Description
You'll find full, fresh-Mex flavor at Zumba
Mexican Grille, right across the street from the
Main Art Theatre in Royal Oak. The menu includes
tacos, burritos and other á la carte items made
with grilled steak and chicken, beer-battered
fish, vegetarian-style beans, rice and other
fillings. The small eatery is decorated with
native folk art and high-tech materials.
Gleaming metalwork and glass block give the
space a modern and clean atmosphere. The walls
are brightly painted, with a few striking
Mexican-Indian designs added for accent. Place
your order at one end of the counter and watch
your meal as it's assembled with steamed corn
tortillas or "American-style" crispy shells. The
server will add cheese, onions, guacamole,
cilantro and other condiments to your liking.
Top it all off with visit to the fresh salsa bar
(the smoky red chipolte salsa, the chunky pico
del gallo, and the tangy green tomatillo sauce
are all very good). Add a self-serve fountain
drink and eat at the stainless steel counter, or
take your food home — either way, Zumba is a
great place for a full meal or a quick
late-night snack. |
